First Great Western Coffeeshop

An independent forum run by First Great Western Customers, for First Great Western Customers.

Subjects discussed on "The Coffee Shop" include timetables, overcrowding, fares, cleanliness, comfort, reliability, and the places that First Great Western serve. We have a wide range of passengers posting regularly, giving a great deal of useful information and expressing a wide range of views, and knowledgeable and welcome contributions from railway staff too which help to explain some of the things that were something of a mystery in the past.

The First Great Western Coffee Shop is administered by the "Save the Train" team with a great deal of help and support from many other individuals and groups. Save the Train are campaigning for the return of an appropriate train service on the TransWilts line, linking the five major population centres in Wiltshire. The train would run throughout the day - Swindon, Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge, Westbury, Dilton Marsh, Warminster and Salisbury ... as it did when First took over on 1st April 2006!
